The Type of jobs your Local Auto Electrician does:
The Type of jobs your local auto electrician does are different everyday. We cover a huge range of electrical problems with vehicles including vans and cars. Its unusual to see two jobs that have the same symptoms & cause, if we do its often a long gap between seeing them.
Everyday is different & as a mobile service visiting peoples home driveways & work car parks, we travel all over the new forest & southampton area.
Every now & then i like to do a round robin update on what we have been up to & the vehicles we have seen. This gives new customers an insight into the problems that their local auto electrician does.
As Specialists in Car & Van Electrics, every day we are investigating & fixing auto electrical faults on vehicles. Most garages specialise in mechanical repairs & often don’t have experienced auto electricians in their teams. Because most garages don’t have auto electricians we provide our services direct to the public visiting their homes or workplace but also support a lot of local garages with tricky vehicle electrical faults.
This latest update has seen us travel throughout the New Forest, Waterside, Totton, Ashurst & Vast Southampton area providing our auto electrical services.
A wide selection of vehicles have been seen, with Citroen, Vauxhall, Honda, Hyundai, Ford, Renault, Volkswagen, Peugeot, Skoda, Fiat & Volvo being our most frequently seen cars on this update.
The Types of job your local auto electrician has seen recently are extremely varied, so heres an overview of what we have been up to:
Starting, Charging & Battery related issues have been the most common problems in this period. Vehicles that won’t start that are completley dead with no lights on dash, cars that crank & make noise but won’t start. Vehicles with battery drains which is a very common problem, charging problems, over voltage problems, check battery errors & cars that batteries have failed.
Our next most popular fault we’ve seen recently is problems with lights not working. Interior & exterior lighting faults ranging from headlights, dip beam, indicators, side lights, reverse lights, fog lights, & brake lights. Broken wires, blown fuses, lighting units, bulb holders, bulbs, such a big selection of lighting faults have been seen. Many of the lighting faults we have seen were MOT failures that needed rectifying to pass the MOT Test, this highlights how important resolving lighting problems is for your vehicle, not only can it cause a hazzard when driving to see or notify other drivers of your prescence but its a requirement to make you vehicle road worthy.
Closely followed up by ABS & traction control faults normally flagged to the customer with a engine warning light on the dash so they know something is amiss.
We have also seen our fair share of, electrical wiring repairs, electric window faults, horns not working, parking sensors faults, windscreen wiper & washer problems, airbag faults, cabin fans not blowing, central locking problems, vehicles cutting out when driving, Immobiliser faults & other electrical gremlins & faults within the car or van.
Like I said at the begining of this update, no two days are the same and the electrical faults are varied.
