Engine Management Light – are you ignoring yours? Engine Management Lights appear on your dashboard to alert you to a potential problem or fault with your vehicle. I’m sure we have all been guilty of ignoring them and hoping they will go away. Unfortunatley by ignoring them it could actually cost you more in the long run,as you may continue driving the vehicle with a faulty part or problem which gives potential to actually cause more costly damage leading to a bigger repair bill. Reminder that if your car has a warning light on dash at time of MOT it may Fail Test!
Reminder that if your car has a warning light on dash at time of MOT it may Fail Test! This is just a quick reminder to those of you who are not aware. If your car is displaying a warning light on the dashboard at the time of your MOT test it may Fail its MOT Test! Don’t leave it until your MOT is due! Warning lights show on your cars dashboard for exactly that reason. They are a warning that there is something wrong with your vehicle and its needs attention from a qualified mechanic. All too frequently we have cars that fail their MOT, due to having a warning light on their dash, the MOT requirements changed back in May 2018! Engine Management Light – Now a fail on MOT Test
Engine Management Light – MOT Fail Your Engine Managment Light must come on with ignition then turn off when your engine is started. If your Engine Managment Light is faulty or displaying due to a fault you will automatically get a Major Fail on your MOT Test and the fault would need repairing before the vehicle can pass its MOT. Don’t leave it to the last minute or till your test day to address the engine management light fault as not only can a delay in resolving the fault cause more long term damage to the car, but it will no longer pass an MOT and be road worthy with the engine managment light fault.
