Is your car winter ready?   Over the past week or so the weather has started to feel more autumnal, winter is on its way.  With the weather changing the conditions outside can be unpredictable is your car ready to use in during dull, dark, cold, winter days? Here are are few things you should check before driving on darker colder days: When did you last have your antifreeze / coolant changed? has it been done in the last few years? if not it could do with a change to ensure it performs. This is why you should always Check your Nuts!

This story is a great example of why you should always Check your NUTS! A pedestrian was left with a fractured chest and skull when he face-planted into the ground after a runaway tyre hit him on the back of the head. Roberto Carlos Fernandes, 50, was walking along the pavement with his wife in Ipatinga, Brazil, when the loose tyre came speeding towards him. It had just come off a vehicle on the opposite side of the dual-carriageway – and careered over two reservations towards the couple. It bounced several times before smashing into the back of his head – face-planting him into the hard concrete. Fog! – the use of lights when driving

The use of Lights when driving in Fog, has sparked numerous posts on local facebook pages, different peoples opinions on this matter always make for a hot conversation topic! Its a shame that some people don’t consider the risks they are putting themselves and others at by not using adequate lighting when we have Fog. This week has been particularly bad and it looks like its to continue. The Highway code states that ” You MUST use headlights when visibility is seriously reduced, generally when you cannot see for more than 100 metres (328 feet). You may also use front or rear fog lights but you MUST switch them off when visibility improves”.
